8.30 Bike ride on a path by the M60 that leads to the River Mersey. Slats of sun shift through tree branches as I cycle. Over the green bridge I find a group of mauve and pink wonderfully named Dame’s Rocket.- (hesperis matronalis) Other wonderful names given to this wild plant are rogue’s gillyflower and mother-of-the evening. Phlox like scent of sweet cloves. May add this to the growing notes for the River Mersey poem.
